Auricular treatments

Over 2,000 years ago, Chinese acupuncturists had observed that the meridians within the body corresponded to specific points on the ear, indicating a connection between the ear and the bodyā€™s internal health. Initially seen as trivial, this notion gained significance when French physician Dr. Paul Nogier uncovered a correlation between illnesses and specific points on the ear. This breakthrough propelled the exploration of the ear's diagnostic and therapeutic potential, marking a pivotal advancement in the field of acupuncture.

Nowadays, auriculotherapy has become increasingly popular as a complementary treatment often utilized in conjunction with acupuncture and herbal medicine practices.

EAR ACUPUNCTURE

Ear acupuncture or auricular acupuncture utilizes tiny needles to activate precise points on the ear. Due to its ease of application, this therapy is available in conditions such as:

  • Recovery from addictions such as drug, alcohol, smoking

  • During IVF treatment, especially on the day of embryo transfer

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder including for military personnel

EAR-SEED ACUPRESSURE

Ear-seed acupressure stimulates the same points as in ear-acupuncture but without needle insertion. Instead, small adhesive plasters containing the herbal seed vaccaria are placed onto a number of points in your ear.

For certain clients seeking prolonged relief, we may strategically place ear seeds post-session to extend the therapeutic benefits well beyond the treatment duration. This additional step ensures a sustained impact over the following days, enhancing the overall efficacy of the acupuncture session.

ASPĀ® acupuncture press needles

ASP ear needles have been used to enhance auriculotherapy treatments. These small, semi-permanent stainless steel needles are shaped like a dart and are designed to stay in auricular points longer for greater stimulation.  ASP needles are commonly used to help with PTSD and anxiety.
