traditional herbal medicine

We approach the human body as a dynamic and interdependent system. We believe that true health is achieved when the body is in a state of harmony, where all its systems work together seamlessly.

In today's modern lifestyle, many individuals experience subclinical discomforts and conditions that impact their daily lives, such as head heaviness, cold sensations, and low back pain. Our goal is not only to address and treat these subclinical symptoms, but also to restore the body's natural balance through traditional herbal medicine.

By harnessing the healing power of natural herbs, stimulates the body's innate ability to heal itself and regain equilibrium. This approach empowers the body to alleviate diseases and symptoms, facilitating a return to optimal health and wellness.

We successfully treated numerous patients with a wide range of diseases from common conditions, such as headaches and common colds to intractable diseases, such as autoimmune diseases.

What is herbal medicine?

Chinese herbal medicine has been part of healthcare in China for many centuries and it remains actively used in other countries in East Asia such as China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Over 400 plants are used in Chinese herbal medicine and although this includes commonly known herbs such as cinnamon, ginger, mint and goji berry, we prescribe many others that are less well known in the US.

WHAT DOES HERBAL MEDICINE INVOLVE?

Before we give you herbal medicine, we'll talk to you about your health concerns, medical history, test results, diet, and lifestyle.

We'll let you know if herbal medicine can help and what to expect. Our herbal formulas can be taken as capsules or as granulated extracts mixed in hot water. Herbal formulas are suitable for both acute (common cold/flu, pain, UTI) and chronic conditions (fertility, dermatological, inflammatory arthritis).

We usually prescribe herbs for 1 to 2 weeks and check in with you before giving more. As you progress, we'll adjust your treatment. This involves a review of your progress to date and to see how well the herbal prescription is working for your symptoms. Once your symptoms have improved, herbal treatment is usually tapered down gradually to allow your body to adjust to being without the herbs.

Are there any side effects?

When prescribed by a fully trained practitioner who knows your medical history, herbal formulas are safe with few side effects, usually related to digestion and short-lived. To prevent interactions, we'll ask for your medication and supplement list and tailor the herbs accordingly. We can also help you schedule your herbal formula alongside your medications or supplements for maximum effectiveness.

Are herbal formulas safe?

There are many herbal companies in the marketplace. As with all our treatments, your safety is of utmost importance to us. We prescribe authentic herbal formulas that have been quality-assured by manufacturers and suppliers who demonstrate the herbal medicines are manufactured according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.  These are important safeguards for ensuring safety standards are met and to ensure that our patients receive the best quality herbs available.  Here are the differences that make our selection of herbal formulas a quality choice.

Authenticity - Physical inspection of the raw herbs is made to determine that they are of the correct species and medicinal part of the plant.

Sustainably Sourced - Work directly with farmers to grow and harvest with minimal load to our planet.

Potency - Specific plant parts are carefully harvested at the height of its season to ensure that their medicinal properties are optimized.

Careful Extraction - The raw herbs are handled according to its unique protocol to yield the highest purity.

Consistent Formulation - Advanced technology, such as High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) verifies and standardizes herb identification by highlighting distinct marker compounds.

Geo Authentic - The medicinal species is grown in its indigenous region, known to have the best climate and ecology to support the yield of a high potency herbal product.

Lab Tested - Strategic batch testing at multiple stages for pesticide and herbicide residues, heavy metals, and sulfites. Also test for E. coli, salmonella, total aerobic bacteria, yeast, mold, and coliforms. Our current specifications for heavy metal and microbial contaminants found in herbal material adheres to the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards.

CITES Protection - Safeguard endangered animals and plants by adhering to guidelines established by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES).
