Meet Dr. Samantha Hewwing

Board-Certified Acupuncturist | Union Square, New York City
Integrative acupuncture care for women's reproductive health, chronic pain, and whole-body wellness.

Dr. Samantha Hewwing is a board-certified acupuncturist in Union Square, New York City, specializing in integrative care for women's reproductive health, chronic pain, digestive health, and whole-body wellness. Her approach unites the depth of traditional East Asian medicine with modern clinical science to create thoughtful, highly individualized treatment plans.

Her path to medicine began long before she set foot in a clinic. Born in Hong Kong and raised in the United States, Dr. Hewwing grew up in a household where East Asian wellness traditions were simply part of everyday life — eating with the seasons, maintaining balanced routines, and turning to herbal decoctions when the body needed support. That early immersion planted a seed that eventually grew into a lifelong vocation.

Dr. Hewwing holds a Doctorate from Pacific College of Health and Science and is nationally board-certified in both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. She completed advanced clinical training at Columbia University Medical Center and NYU Langone Health, working alongside physicians in integrative settings treating complex and chronic conditions — giving her a unique fluency in both Eastern and Western approaches to care.

Patients often remark on how at ease they feel in her presence. She takes time to listen carefully, explain treatment approaches clearly, and understand not just symptoms, but the broader patterns affecting each person's health.
